Who we are

Next Generation Project-Based Learning (NextGen PBL) leverages the science High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIMs) developed through research and design work at Michigan State University’s CREATE for STEM Institute to support educators in shifting classroom practice. Our sustained professional learning program engages teachers in curriculum-specific experiences, preparing them to support their own students in figuring out scientific phenomena through individual and collective sense-making. Positioning our science HQIMs as toolkits, our professional learning program provides educators with the pedagogical practices, learning theories, equity-oriented rationales, and professional networks to facilitate instructional decisions that best meet their student’s needs.
